Default 2009 Ball Joint Recall ?

I have a 2009 1500 Sport Ram and my buddies also have them. I work with them and they said they already got their notice in the mail and had the recall done on the ball joints ..

when i go to the dodge website and punch in my vin, a funny whit box pops up and says there are no past recalls in history ... or somethin ..

where can i go to check to see if i have a recall on my balljoints other than calling the service department monday morning ?

the dealership i bought the truck at was forced to close after the consolidation ... i think im not getting recall notices like i should be ..

thanks

They have been sending out the notices in batches for about 6 months - and its not actually a recall - it was worded something like owner satisfaction notification. They were initially only being sent to cold weather states.

If your truck falls under ANY recall guidelines, you`ll definatly be notified by dodge.
It would be wise to go to a dealer you do business with and make sure your mailing address is correct.
You can even call dodge/customer service to check for the proper info and ask them about any recall pertaining to your truck.
You can also ask them to check your mailing address that they have on file for you.

Yeah I got mine done a few months ago. I live in Alaska, so the cold weather thing could be true. I'm not sure it was for all 2009's though. Might have only been for a certain batch. I don't remember.

If it wasn't at first, it's definitely a recall now. That's what my dealership told me anyway. I actually took it in for something else and they did it before I got the notification.

This is what the original notice said - wasn't a full blown recall back then.

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION L04
OUTER TIE ROD ENDS
Dear: (Name)
At Chrysler Group LLC, you can be assured that we are changing the way we look at quality. To prove our commitment to quality, the company is investing in and prioritizing improvements for every vehicle that we build. As part of that commitment, we are also targeting existing vehicles on the road today and contacting our customers to provide these quality improvements, at no charge, that will help to improve your ownership satisfaction.
We are recommending the following improvements be performed on some 2009 and 2010 model year Ram Trucks. Recommended Service:
The outer tie rod ends on your truck (VIN: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) may experience water ingression in one or both of the outer tie rod ends. This could cause a rattling or clunking noise under certain driving conditions.
What your dealer will do:
Chrysler will service your vehicle free of charge (parts and labor). To do this, your dealer will replace both outer tie rod ends on your truck. The work will take about 1.5 hours to complete. We recommend that you make an appointment with your dealer to minimize your inconvenience.
What you should do:
Simply contact your Chrysler, Jeep, or Dodge dealer, at your convenience, to schedule a service appointment. Your dealer will collect the necessary information to ensure that the appropriate parts are available so your service can be completed in a timely manner. Although not required, we recommend bringing this letter with you to your dealer, when you bring your vehicle in for this service.
If you need help:
Please contact the Chrysler Group Recall Assistance Center at 1-800-853-1403.

Maybe someone can explain this to me but the OP was regarding a ball joint recall. I already had the tie rod recall done. Are these 2 different recalls or no? I thought ball joints were different from tie rods. I don't know a lot about suspension components so I might need a lesson.
