Default 09 1500 broken manifold studs

Just had my truck in for the second time to have exhaust manifold studs replaced and a new gasket on the left side. The stealership passes this off as no big deal and it is covered under the 09' unlimited drivetrain warranty. I am concerned that it will become a regular problem. Anyone else experiencing this? My truck has 93,000 mostly highway miles and very gentle use.

I had the same thing done last week, and also for the second time. Hoping the new bolts hold this time. The first time it was done only a couple of the bolts were replaced and this time 5 were. Glad it's all covered under the warranty but it is a PIA to have to drop the truck off for a full day. Here's hoping they fixed it right this time.

Love my truck, glad I bought the optioal warranty with it that covers the whole truck for life.

While At the dealer I asked them to check if this repair would be under my 2009 Ram 1500 Lifetime Powertrain warranty. Service writer ran vin on Chrysler computer. Came back and said I don't have that coverage. Only 3yr/36K which is now expired. I showed them my window sticker stating it came with purchase. But Chrysler systems says I don't. Owner says he will contact them. I suggest all owners who think they have lifetime warranty double check with Chrysler before you need it.

You would have 5/100 then. 3'/36 basic and 5/100 powertrain. Which the bolts would still be covered.

If you are the original "first" owner who purchased an '09 Ram new, you have the lifetime powertrain warranty. There are no if, ands, or buts about it. It was a promotion for "all" '09 Dodge Rams at the time. Everything else (As metioned by hounddogg) carries a 5 year 100,000 powertrain warranty.

Since you have the window sticker, I'm going to assume you are the original owner? If so, they don't have to "run" sh*t. You have a Lifetime Powertrain Warranty and manifolds are a covered component.

Tell 'em to stop dicking you around and just fix it!!!

Just a thought, could you possibly buy some ARP studs and have the stealership install them? I can almost guarantee they will not snap. They are pricey though... I would go with SRP Studs, and Felpro gaskets, have them perform the labor free of charge...if possible.
