Default Mufflex retrofit installed and have a ???

Has anyone installed the mufflex 14" retrofit and noticed the exhaust tips don't line up exactly where they originally were? The seem to stick out slightly further and sit a little lower than they originally need

I have the same setup and thought they were pretty close. Can you loosen up the 3 clamps, reposition the tails, and have someone hold them while you retighten the clamps?

I looked at mine this morning and the tips are about 1 inch from the top of the cutouts and flush with farthest part. So the bottom of the tips are out further since the bumper curves in across the bottom.

If I were to loosen the clamps and rotate the tailpipes then they wouldn't be centered in the cut-outs anymore. All the pipes are are in as far as they can go and are hitting the alignment tabs on the factory pipes. It's not really that far off...just notice a little more of a gap than i did before.

Has anyone bought the 5" stainless tips that Mufflex sells for the factory dual exhaust?

Mine too. Also watch out because those band clamps loosen up. I had to take those off and use regular clamps on the pipe that goes from the muffler to the converter. The muffler almost fell off it was so loose.

I will keep an eye on the clamps...I put them on with my 1/2" impact so they are very tight!

Yeah I did too. Band clamps will not compress onto another round pipe as tightly, the same way the old style clamps do by crimping the two pipes together.

My inlet and outlet pipes came with only one slit in them. I just cut another slit on the opposite side of inlet and outlet pipes of where mufflex ones are. About the width of two jig saw blades. Then put the same clamps back on flush with the ends of the inlet and outlets. Barely had to crank them down with just a half inch ratchet and they pinched tight. No leaks or issues for three years now.
