If you have already put a tester on this on copper pin
Are you talking about the 4 flat or the round 7 pin ?

There is a link on the DIY section for the wiring diagrams for your truck. Look them up.

You've tested with a test light or multimeter? I wouldn't rely on the trailer as a valid test case. It's more likely the trailer's wiring is messed up than the truck's. If you have tested that way, then I guess I'd start looking for a fuse related to it. With everything controlled by computer these days though, it could be harder to track down than that...

Well it was a fuse it was one the square ones not the small flat one they was the only one I check. I had never had any dealing with the square ones so I learn something after all see you all later.

Default Trailer Plug

Ed, Thanks for posting what the problem was. I have a 2012 2500 diesel. I lost power to the trailer running lights one night and have yet been able to find the problem on my own. I easily found a wire on the trailer had rubbed through and burned a bit of the insulation. I have bought a chiltons which was worthless in helping and have read the the fuse diagram on the bottom of the the TIPM several times but I never checked any of the big fuses, just looked at them. The truck is fine, it is just the running lights for the trailer, both factory plugs like you described. I will go check and then finish this post.

You're the man ED. Fuse J14, one of the big ones. It's marked park lamp, main and trlr. The truck lights are fine but I found it. Thanks for the reply that put me in the correct direction.
