Default Truck Temp 2013 Ram Crew Laramie

Has anyone experience that your ram 2013 doesn't heat up quick.
Had my first cold snap today -30 below.
Started my truck w/ the remote start, let it run for max time, and yet still cold.
Water temp gauge hadn't even risen, trans. temp was starting to warm up.
Have cold front inserts in grill, have trans. & oil heater pads that are on a timer that goes on about 2 hrs. before I start the truck.
Going to check Antifreeze on Sat., a see if it's rated correctly.
If not the problem, guess ask the service dept. at dealer if a better thermostat is available.
I would hate to see what happens when I start hitting the -40, or -50 below weather.

Sounds like a jet liner at 35,000 ft.

Don't know much about temps that cold but I would think leaving the block heater on overnight would be the best option if it is -30.

If it gets to 29 degrees where I am at it is the "End of Days".

Well I would think most of the guys/Gals that own one in the northern tier states would chime in. I am in Central NH and my truck does take a while to warm up. I usually start it with the remote and let it idle for a few minutes before leaving for work, but I can get ten miles or so before I start to feel it.

Mine takes a while to warm up - usually about 15 minutes of driving. That is the main reason I put in the seat heaters.

Ya we were -40 last week. It won't really heat up until you start to drive it. After about 5-10 min it warms up. The timer on the remote start isn't long enough for us northern guys lol.

The timer is irrelevant, the hemis don't warm up at idle.

Just get in and drive the thing. Warm air starts coming out in just a couple miles of driving. Use the remote start 2-5 minutes before leaving and I have heat within the first mile. Granted I haven't been in -20* or lower temps for some time, but this is around 0*F I'm talking about.

If by "max time" you mean the two 10-min cycles, it should at least be a little warm. In this neck of the woods, when the mercury is down between -30 and -40C, eight to ten minutes at idle will typically get the coolant just above 40C (100F).

As an aside, this is the first pickmeup truck I've driven through prairie winters (x4) without having to add grill inserts (cold front) or stick'n a piece of cardboard in front of the rad. She stays full hot no matter the frozen hell at the pointy end. That said, I suspect you may have a thermostat with some premature opening issues.

That's odd, because mine is warm with remote start after about 15 minutes.
