Default Manual Trans

Anybody know why you can't get the 1500 quad cab with a 6cyl/8cyl with a 6spd manual trans I'd love to get one like that. I gotta buddy down south with a Gen 3 Ram 07 with a 4.7L V8 Quad cab 6spd manual trans, and I currently own an 08 regular cab with a 6cyl 6spd manual trans.. Just looking for some answers please

This is just my own opinion, automatic transmissions are so refined today, thers not much of a market for 1500 1/2 ton manual transmission trucks today. Most manufactuer`s have walked away from 1/2 ton manuals. Though ther are a few of us that would love to have a manual trans, seems they`re going to the wayside.
I guess for now, the real truth would have to come from the manufactuers. Seems they only want to offer the manual trans in 2500 on up trucks now.

The reason - demand. You and 5 other guys still want a manual transmission

And one other consideration: Unless you go for the bucket seats, you pretty much lose the front center seating position with the manual transmission.

You lose it in most of the trucks anyways since most of them have the automatic shifter in the console rather than on the column. Mine is a column shift and I've only seen a couple others that did not have the console shift and buckets

The 2015 Chevy Colorado will offer a manual trans. Maybe Ram will step back up to the plate again. That was my only disappointment with my 2012 1500 was that a manual wasn't an option. I had previously converted my 2001 1500 from auto to manual.

I must say I am now very happy with my 2013 2500 Cummins 6 speed.

I would buy a gas engine with a manual...automatics need a software to talk the engine that talks to the coumputer... its s false hood to over rides ons preferance for a manual gear box..

My hemi has a 6sp manual...not worth geting a ctd just to have a manual.T
Nissan frontier and the xtera may still have man trans...as well a Tacoma.

I need a full size truck and if ford or GM or dodge had this option, I would buy...

Thiers a lot more able minded rebals who need to stop buying crap automatic transmissons.

Forgot to mention my standard cab 08 Ram has buckets and a third seat in the middle with a center console. And 2 people ride with me all the time, the middle rider just had to put there feet on the same side as the other passenger is all. Same with my old Dakota that is a 5sp. Can easily be done

If i "had" a choice, i would much rather have a manual transmission, like already stated, auto`s have to be told what to do by way of a lame computor with less than garbage software to run it. Let ME decide what gear i want, when i want it. Seems to be the way of the country lately... things shoved down our throats, with NO choices in the matter... can we say MANDATES...!!! Take what we offer, or go without. A clutch with no wires is far more predictable... not to mention, MUCH cheaper to repair..! Carry on, you manual transmission haters...LOL
