Default Can 305/55R20 tires work w/aftermarket wheels (no lift)?

Wondering if there is a way to use 305/55R20 tires (or similar size, i.e. somewhat wider than stock 275/60R20) if I got aftermarket wheels that had some type of offset? This would be on a 4x4 crew 1500 with no lift or level kit installed. If so, what offset is needed?

I don't really want to dump money into new wheels but I'm just looking at options...

Thanks,
Rob

I'm going to be putting 305/50/20 on mine and they will fit the stock set up just fine.

Thanks. Those are an inch shorter than stock size though. I'm not really sure I'd want to have a lower sidewall height.

Less sidewall height probably equals a stiffer ride. If I'm going to 305 tires they will weigh 10-20 lbs more per tire which will already make the ride more harsh. No need to make it worse with tire diameter reduction.

I'm looking at a set of General Grabber AT2's. There rated as a XL tire. I had a set of BFG's on my 07 that were rate an E tire and were a rough ride. I need a GOOD snow tire and the Grabbers are rated high for snow traction and I hope not a stiff E rated ride.

Anyone else have input on what wheel specs for running 305/55R20 tires on stock suspension? Thanks, Rob

I have a set of 20x10 wheels, -24mm offset on a set of 305/55/20 NTG's. I've run this setup at stock height and also with a front level (2.5")...no rubbing in either situation.
