Default Tires.

So even though I am nowhere near ready for tires, I was just thinking of what would look good. It's an 09 ram 1500 sport 4x4. Right now it just has the stock 275 highway tires on it. I am wanting to go up to 285's. Looking into A/T's. I want them to have some meat though. Good priced also. 3...2...1... Go!!!

Procomp Xtreme A/T, if they are available in that size. I have 60k miles on mine with plenty of tread left. And they are super quiet. A little more expensive than the others, but I think the millage offsets the cost.

I have much luck with Nitto, Terra Grapplers are my normal tire; I also have a set of Dura grapplers for long distance highway trailer towing; not a tire issue ever.

Firestone Destination AT if you want a good quality tire. If you are after looks then who knows.

I just spent some time researching and looking at tires. I wanted an AT tire that has good capabilities with ice, snow, light mud, and is reasonably quiet. I also wanted them to be moderately aggressive looking. I went with the Terra Grapplers. I also really wanted a larger size (such as 305/55R20) but I don't have a level kit and didn't want to double the investment to get new wheels with different offset so I stuck with stock size.

The last tires I put on the truck were Cooper Zeon LTZ. They met all my needs, except they ended up wearing poorly. I'll be lucky to get 35K out of them.

I also looked at Goodyear Duratrac and Toyo Open Country AT2. They are pretty similar to the Terras. BFG All Terrains are similar but way more expensive.

I work at a rather large dealership and I takes to the Chrysler parts guy today and he told me that because my truck has the stock 20's on it, A/T's won't be under $1,000. :/ Thanks for the info though. I will check those listed out.

Yeah, that's the ballpark. I got the Terras for $800 but it will cost $80-200 for installation (depending whether I go with full road hazard warranty). I was able to get the LTZs for $650 installed, but that was two years ago when Fleet Farm tended to have great sales on them quarterly and I got Discount Tire to match them.

Lucky. Haha. I figured that with bigger wheels, the less rubber there is, it would be cheaper.
