How to set proper tire pressure
I seem to keep chasing proper tire pressure. And first I have a quality digital pressure gauge that I use to compare with my trucks tire pressure display. (2018 RAM 2500 4X4 Longhorn) and it matches.
The drivers door sticker for my trucks tire size and payload recommends #65 front and #80 rear 'COLD"
My question is what is considered cold? And what should the proper tire pressures be with normal driving temperatures? I once set my cold pressures (@55f) as recommend BUT at normal driving temp (@80f) my pressures grew to 79 front and 94 rear. this seemed quite high to me and since I was towing a 12K pound trailer I was concerned my rears were over pressured.
What should the tire pressures be when operating at normal daytime driving temps?
thanks!

The tires will heat up under use. They will heat up more under heavy use. That's normal. If you set your tire pressures 'cold', (I.E. having driven less than 5 miles) you are all set. Folks EXPECT pressures to rise while driving, and the cold pressure takes that into account.
