Default Manual swap.

Hey Im lookin at swappin tranny's in my 02 neon. I want a manual, but need to know some stuff... with the diff trannies are the axles the same length? obviously i need the computer. But other than that what else is involved?

i really would not suggest it but you will need new axels and I would suggest getting the wireing harness to make your life easier.

So in other words try to find a scrapped manual neon with back end damage? that sounds better... LOL thanks man.

its your best shot and if you dont like the looks of somthing you can just swap it out with something new.

If your going to all that trouble just swap an srt-4 motor in, more power, manual transmission and almost the same price.

Yeah, but I can find a high milage manual neon for dirt cheap up here noone wants then after 100,000km... SRTs are hard to find, and i dont feel like buyin a crate motor n tranny.... A seasoned 2.0 block with some work would do just fine.

no never buy a crate motor, yea I see what you mean by avaliabilty, if you found a wrecked one and were willing to drop 3,000 for the entire car that would be the only way I would do it.

iv got an 02 sxt.. I wanna do the same thing(auto to manual)..i have to switch trans anyways cuz mines about done for.. Other than the computer what all is needed? Where can i find the wiring harness for it? please help and thanks.

One time i saw all the wiring, and clutch and pedals and stuff on ebay.....u might be able to find it on there...good luck though. or Just go to the junkyard.

Is the anything else needed? so far i see clutch, trans, ecm, wiring harness, pedals. Sorry im kinda new to the whole thing. I had a manual crx but never had to do work. Also, will the srt-4 sock shifter work in the sxt?
