Why does this site take so long to load each page? SUX

RE: Why does this site take so long to load each page? SUX
A couple things that might be of interest:
The government's Argonne National Lab has a web application
that can analyse the 'weakest link' in a network:
http://miranda.ctd.anl.gov:7123/
I am presently using FireFox with the Adblock and NoScript
extentions and I did find that both of these 'Add-Ons' did improve
speed of loading at many websites.
Adblock:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865
NoScript
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722
Both of the above extentions improve the security of FireFox from malware
as well as improving the speed of page loading.
I also have 'on purpose' not installed the Flash plug-in in FireFox
but do have Flash enabled in Internet Explorer.
The vast majority of the time Flash is slowing you down by loading large blocks of data for ads on the page that most don't really want to see, so leaving Flash off of FireFox speeds things up.
When I want to see a Flash presentation I just load that particular webpage in IE.
Apple claims its Safari browser is the fastest webpage processor
and in my experiments this seems to be true. There is now a Windows version of Safari at:
http://www.apple.com/safari/download/
Note that the way Apple wants you to do Flash presentations is to enable the Quicktime Plug-In to play Flash
rather than to install a separate Macromedia/Adobe Plug-In,
which as far as I know is not available for Safari.
Safari also has a setting for cookies that only allows them to be set for the webpage that you navigate to, not for the advertisers on that page. That setting also seems to speed up webpage loading.

Yeah, this forum is pretty lame. C'mon, a 255 character limit for sigs?! I have an 8mbps connection to Comcast which frequently surpasses 18 mbps. I can read and respond to other forums in the time it takes this one to give up.

On another note, I've noticed lately that the slowdown is especially apparent when I post. It can be running just fine but most of the time it takes over a minute to actually post.
