Why does this site take so long to load each page? SUX
Okay, here's what I've been able to turn up information wise thus far....
1.) This issue is primarily affecting Comcast users
2.) This issue seems to be affecting people who have routers/wireless hubs more then those who dont
3.) This issue seems to be directly related to DNS problems, which can cause all the problems you are having...
The most basic use of DNS is to translate hostnames to IP addresses. It is in very simple terms like a phone book. For example, if you want to know the internet address of en.wikipedia.org, the Domain Name System can be used to tell you it is 66.230.200.100. DNS also has other important uses.
What I'd suggest everyone who is having this issue do, is go to this website...
https://www.opendns.com/start
If you dont connect to a router/wireless hub, then you need to click on the correct version of Windows Operating System in the list. You will see a few rows of pictures of routers on the left, and the Windows options are in the middle. Click on the correct version and it will walk you thru the setup process.
They have some icons where you can choose your particular brand of router......but if you dont see yours listed, then click here:
https://www.opendns.com/start?device=router
Basically what we are trying to do is change the way your computer connects to the internet....and this may help. I strongly, strongly suggest that you only do this if you feel confident in your computer knowledge. I cannot guarantee that this will fix the problem, but I do believe that the issue is inherent with Comcast, as I can show you 1000's of complaints against that company on this issue....
I'm available for any and all help I can provide.

I can testify that Comcast often has problems with their DNS
server.
I can remember at least 5 times in the past when Comcast had DNS server problems and I had to use dnsstuff.com website to temporarily find numerical IP addresses manually.

I could see how this site could be a pain for dial up users and very slow DSL users, but that's it. The gifs would make it load slow. I have lag problems when I use Firefox on DF, but not IE or Avant.
I tried IE for awhile and slowdown is still present so it's not Firefox for me. DevilsReject, I tried OpenDNS for awhile but it didn't change anything for me so I guess Time Warner's DNS is alright.
I have the 'ShowIP' extension for FireFox browser
that tells me the numerical IP for dodgeforum is
209.234.248.12
but when I manually type that IP into any browser
it won't load the dodgeform.com homepage
and gives the error:
Bad Request (Invalid Hostname)
Can anyone explain why that is happening?

I don't really have load up times that are bad it's more like clicky times. Like for example I clicked on next to go to page two here. first click nothing. second click nothing. clicked like ten times went right to th page in a few seconds. It's very odd and my guess has to do with comcast. because I have them
nah this is the second computer i've had since I frequent this site and it did it to both of them. also does it at my friends house as well and at school. it's not a big deal really
