beta of SP3 for XP reviewed
My biggest gripe with Vista is the incompatability it has with a lot of hardware and virtually all pre-Vista games. Bill Gates needs to realize everyone doesn't have pockets as deep as his........[:@]

If anyone goes out and slipstreams Beta SP3 into a XP install CD
and tries it out, I would be curious as to how many megabytes of hard drive space it saves compared to a typical XP installation with all the patches since SP2

The problem lies not with Vista but with most of the software programming companies. The harsh reality is that most of these companies have gotten by on doing very little in the way of true software development. Most of the software used on XP is a refresh from software designed for Windows 2000. Vista is so new that most of the software was never intended or designed to be 32bit. Its mostly 16 bit.

Someone has to lead the way as far as "upgrading" the programing standards...and the only company that can do that is the one producing the operating system. This same thing basically happened in the mid-90's when things switched from 3.11 to Windows 95 anyway, and its not the last time it will happen either...

Fact remains, Microsoft doesn't have to give 2 ****s if people like vista or not. Microsoft is the standard, you'll use it, and you'll like it. Your other options are to turn iGay, or learn console language so you can use linux.
