Default computer security

What program(s) are you guys running to protect your computers? I have the Dell installed McAfee which I have kept updated which is doing some strange things and I'm thinking of uninstalling. I'm wondering what to replace it with that's free and secure.

I like avg free addition. I always have had problems with McAfee but the only thing is to go in and change the scan times.

I had Mcafee on my first laptop and I was not impressed. All of my other computers had used Norton. My latest computer I decided to try a program called Trend Micro PC-cillin. Personal preference here but don't be a tight *** on your internet security program. Fork out the $50 or $60ish and buy something good.

Ive got to agree with spence, AVG free edition is pretty good, however I am currently running Norton anti virus because I got 90 days free with my new computer, so far I actually like it.

I used to be a norton fan, but they got to be to slow for my liking, I switched to PC Cillian and will never go back, I love it, and the fact that they give you a 3 user license with it, which means I buy it and give my mom and sister the program as well, otherwise they would not have any anti-virus or firewall protection, my bro runs a mac so he is on his own..lol
