is anyone else here getting a message every time their AVG free 7.5 updates that says after may 31 2008 their version of the program will no longer be supported and that you need to upgrade to AVG 8.0???

the thing is AVG 8.0 is not free, so what do you guys suggest i switch to that is free and relatively good without bogging my system down too much???

I got the same thing with AVG not updating, so I switched to Avast 4.8, it's free and rated as good as AVG by most PC magazines.

Alright, there's a small link on the bottom of that avg popup to see their "other products." Follow that and you'll see the free avg 8 download.

Avast is good, but not as good as AVG. There IS a free version of AVG 8.0. I have it....
