I really need to get some dvd ripping software for my mac so i can make a bball highlight tape for my second cousin...
any suggestions?

I know cinematize would probably work...

and mactheripper is not what i'm looking for. I need something that will convert DVD image into quicktime or other editable format.

All you need is to upgrade from regular QuickTime to Quicktime Pro, then you can do exactly what your wanting to. It only cost about twenty or twenty five dollars or you can simply add a Quicktime Pro serial number from a site like Serialz.to in System Preferences.(not that I'm suggesting you do the latter!!!)

 

you can't rip a dvd with quicktime pro! ...can you?

oh, and arrrrrgh! nothing will work with a mac! I'm getting VMWare!
