Default Cannot change thread names. +5 Edited** 2-22-09

I cannot chnage any thread names on any of my threads new and old.
I did bring this to the attention of midnight but he might have forgtotten.

Just letting the rest of you know this problem so hopefully it can get resolved..

Make sure you use the Go Advanced option to Edit/Post your posts. This gives you more options to make changes.

It makes the change on the actual thread but not on the link that gets clicked to enter the thread, for example this thread's link is named "Cannot change thread names. +5" on the link but here at the top of my post it reads "Cannot change thread names. +5 Won't show up on main list" It won't change the actual thread name that you have to click on.

You might try logging out and logging back in, as well as clearing your temp files/cookies. It almost sounds like it's not renewing the page for you....

The link you are referring to is in the main section where your thread is created right?

Correct, I will try that.

Deleted all cookies and temp files and also relogged in and it still doesn't work.

Gonna sound kinda retarded, but you are editing the first post in the thread that you created right? If you updated it at the end, it usually wont show up changed....however, if you edit the first post, it generally will change...

I have tried all that to. I had a typo in the thread name and wanted to edit it. Even in advanced options it would only change the sub name once opened, but not the thread title for other viewers. So my fix was to just make sure it says what I want the first time, and also not to post threads while I have been drinking beer

I'm happy to know that it's not just me who has this problem.

I have noticed that the thread name is used as a "locator" for the thread instead of the old random generated number from the old forum. I wonder if the original thread name cannot be changed if others have posted to it as their posts would not be "linked" to the correct thread.

I wonder what would happen if the same person posted 2 separate threads with the same name? Perhaps the forum universe would implode????
