The off-topic forum is obviously heavily used. I don't know if it would work to make subforums off the off-topic forum. such as a jokes subforum, or maybe something about polls. It is just to hard to look through all of the new topics in the section.

i was thinking subforums would be good because they are in most other forums. those are even less travelled areas. off-topic is the most important.

 

yes but with the recent rise in jokes and polls I think the subject should be re-examined.
And I also belive alot of these jokes and polls are just post whoreing in disguise.
I mean how much effort does it take to go onto google, serch jokes and start copying and pasting?
also I have noticed that alot of these jokes come from the ebaumsworld main paige.

at the very least put [joke] in the subject lines of the jokes so that people will know what it is like the polls

 

Not much at all & same with news, but alot of threads aren't just off the top of your head stuff. Threads tend to come from different sources. I get what you're getting at and am starting to agree. It's been an issue in the past though and Amanda thought we didn't need a seperate forum, thus me having to agree with her....
Now that I think of it and reevaluating my thoughts, if the flood of jokes and news anchors are going to take up a major part of the offtopic section, I say go for it, create another section................ or as Todd said, ban jokes (which probably can't be done)

the way it apperars to me, is that with the current influx and deluge of jokes, polls, and news,
that those 3 now take up roughly 50% of off topic.

I liked it when they separated the vehicle forums into the different generations. It made it easier to find the info I wanted to see
Less sifting was involved.

the occasional joke/poll/news is one thing but with the current frequency at which they pop up they deserve thier own sub section.

It just looks like off topic is mis-named at this point. off topic has turned into the joke/poll/news section.

it is my opinion that Off-topic should be reserved for stuff like:
