How can I read a pdf file or unzip a file?
I d/l a schematic but can't open it. Says "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file." I'm not very computer savvy when it comes to this kind of stuff. Can some one help me here, ideas?
I'm running windows xp home,if it matters. Thanks in advance. Mike

If you are trying to get into the open sourced software game, I think open office has a pdf reader in it. Personally, I just install Adobe and then run PCdecrapifier and remove all the addons that Adobe likes to use.
Actually, it's a schematic for a pub time dart machine. It fried a capasitor (I think) on the power supply but I didn't know the value of it. It's an 87 model and I love throwin' darts. The co. dosen't make them anymore.
I hope you like Adobe, personally, I don't like the bloat as mentioned by the other poster. Foxit is free/fast, and on a diet:http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/
+1 for Foxit PDF Reader.
I like 7-Zip best for zipped or compressed files.
