An idea for this PM spam
I know this can't be put into place from an admin stand point (maybe Amanda or Ralph can do this), but what about needing to have "X" number of posts to be able to PM or email other members?
For example, if you needed 100 posts to be able to use the PM/email feature, and a spammer wanted to continue with the PM spamming, it would delay him for several days or weeks. Then when he did reach the 100 posts and he started, he would need to re-register and redo the 100....a total pain in the butt for a spammer.
Also, why this wouldn't affect other members with questions. They could always post the issue they were having versus sending a PM/email. If the spammer decided to nix the PM spam all together and spam on the forum via posts, the word filter could kick...
Ideas???

yeah..i have an idea.
this person is doing this to get a rise out of people...its like a child throwing a tantrum....if the child is ignored when he or she throws the tantrum, he or she wont keep doing it.

Then get rid of every pinned thread talking about it and every member's post (including mine) that talks about the spam. Plus this isn't the first time this has happened...
one of the spammer names had over 50 posts very quickly...and we get too many "help" PMs from new members. there is no point in punishing new members who need help for the sake of slowing a few emails.
so these people were doign this just to get a rise out of the members. damn it my pms back to him must fo been exactly what he wanted.
