2.7 rebuilt and purring like a kitten
...and it will for a very long time I'm sure. After 1000 miles switching to Mobil 1 every 6000 miles.
The rebuild was easy. The engine is a snap to remove and install. $1000 in parts (most just preventative)+ $500 for the car and I have a 75,000 mile Intrepid with zero on the engine. not bad.
There are loads of great deals out there on abused Intrepids if you're looking for a car. And the comments are hilarious on the forums:
"Started knocking at 94,000 and died completely at 97,000" LOL!
"Changed my oil regularily and always added more whenever it was 2 quarts low" Really?
"Changed the oil on all my cars every 15,000 and never had a problem until now." *sigh*
These are the people who want to sue Chrysler.
