OK here are the details,
its a 2000, 2.7L , 99000kms, loaded.
It starts poorly has to crank over for 5-10 secs before firiing up, after it started it seems fine, I tried to rev it up a couple times to say 4 grand or so and seems fine. When I get on the road it accelerates fine if I ease on the gas, but when I try to give it more not even to the point of kicking down a gear the vehicle studders bad really bad and it won't accelerate.
Oh ya the engine light is on.
Anyone ever have this problem? tips and ideas greatly appreciated.

I have the exact same problem except my car shudders at 3k and I have 63k miles on the car. I havent fixed it yet (not sure what it is exactly and I just bought some new fenders from a yard to put on the car, so easy things first) but I think that it was 22Dodge22 who said that it could be the fuel pump and him and I emphasize on the fact it COULD be the problem. Also I have no check engine light.

 

Problem solved! Today I had the car diagnosed at Autozone and they pulled up some trouble codes including two codes for bad O2 sensors (just replaced in last year, isnt the problem), thrown code for low coolant temp (thermostat recently replaced and coolant levels at appropriate levels), and finally a thrown code for a bad Camshaft Position Sensor. Since all those other things were old codes I went out and bought a new camshaft position sensor. Spent ten minutes yanking out the old one and threw the new one in. Went to start the car and BAM instant start up, then I took it on the main roads and floored it past a new cobalt SS reaching 6500 RPM! Now all that's left on my car is fixing a hole in the bumper and touching up the paint and removing some makeup stains from my sister.
