transmission hard shift from first into second
hey guys trying to help my folks out here. they have a 2001 intrepid se 2.7v6 with 109,000 miles. there having a problem when it shifts from first into second gear. i has a hard jerk motion and then slams into gear. it only does this from first into second. all other gears are fine. the dash light for the transmission is on. i looked for codes but nothing came up. any ideas or thoughts to try would be appreciated . thank

The codes you looked up are probably just the pcm codes. You need to get your tcm codes ran. It requires a DRB scan tool. Take the car to a mechanic that has this tool and it take seconds and they will tell you that the problem is. It sounds like either it's low on transmission fluid or the transmission needs to be re-programed.

Did you find out what was causing the hard shift into second?
