Why do you think it needs to be changed?

A valve cover gasket is not something that will "come off" on its own. It is held on by the valve cover. Gaskets may develop leaks when they become old and brittle, but not to the point of causing the engine to "blow up". There are plenty of other things to worry about that will cause an engine to blow up. Lack of oil, over heating, timing belt snapping, etc. Valve cover gaskets are not a normal maintenance schedule replacement item. You replace them when they get old and start to leak (others live with the leak) How many miles on the vehicle and what engine?

Again, why do you feel it needs to be changed? (I assume you are getting the valve cover gasket replaced). PVC is a $3 part you can replace yourself in 5 minutes or less. How many miles on the car?

Hi
I noticed a leak. Mec. Said it's from the gasket so don't know many who do replace the gasket so it concerned me.
Ooo far as the PCV valve Nappa is charging me $10.00. If I knew how to replace it, believe me I would do it myself.
Miles 120,000 miles

First off, we need to get the engine info correct. The second generation intrepid did not come with a 2.5L engine that I am aware of. 2.7, 3.2 and 3.5L V6's. Location of the PCV will be different on each. If you meant a 3.5, the PCV valve is located dead center of the intake manifold all the way back towards the firewall. There is a tube connected to it. It just screws into the manifold.
