Default Intrepid Comming Back?!

The dealership who sold me my 2001 Intrepid said DC was going to re-release the Intrepid because of the Charger's lackluster sales. Is there any thruth to this, or was the dealership mis-informed? I think having this wonderful car replaced by the Charger is pitiful. They are nothing alike besides the 4 doors. The reason Chargers, I believe, are not selling as well as the Intrepids did is because of price and engines. For one, new Chargers are in the 40K range and my slightly used Intrepid was under 10K so I imagine it was in the 20K range when new. Intrepids were economy cars. Same applies with engines. Why would someone want a V8 Hemi in a economy car? And DC cant figure that out, sad.

Default RE: Intrepid Comming Back?!

The Charger SE (base) starts at $23K and comes with the 3.5L
The SXT starts at $26K and comes with the 3.5L
The R/T starts at nearly $31K and gets the 5.7L with MDS
The SRT-8 starts at $38K and gets the 6.1L.

With the exception of the SRT-8, nothing near $40K. (I'm not saying your a liar or anything, however, so please don't take it that way )

They only have 3 engines, and, unless you get an R/T or up, you only get one (the 3.5L).
I believe they can do better, but, hey, I'm not running DCX, their a company, they can take the loss for their stupidity.

As for bringing back the Intrepid, I doubt it.
