Alarm Won't Shutoff & Doors Won't Unlock
Hi all, I just bought my wife an 09 Journey (60k miles) for her birthday and when I went to unlock it tonight the alarm went off. I just thought I hit the panic button by mistake and tried to turn it off and none of the buttons did anything to it. The alarm went off for a while and then the horn stopped but lights kept flashing for another five minutes or so. Now the alarm light is flashing on the dash and neither of our key FOBS will work. Has anyone experienced this or have any clues on how to get in and maybe reset it? Thanks for any advice.
I believe there is a Software Update/Flash for the TPIM(body controller) to address this issue.
Even tho the TSB saids it only applies to 2010 vehicle, But I would not be surprise if 09 have the same issue. Might have to take it to dealership to check for any avalible update.
We usually charge half hour labor just to run Every single software update on a vehicle, so, call ur dealer.

Thanks for the advice. I wish the car came with the real key so I could get the door open to get it to the dealership. These sort of things have a real knack for happening at bad times. We have a big snow storm coming tomorrow and my wife is worried about driving our silverado to work lol.
There is a real key inside the key fobik

I cant believe they sold you the car with 2 keys with no blade.
If you need just a blade to open the door, provide ownership of vehicle proof, and your dealership should be able to cut u a metal blade key off the VIN. So you don't have to pry the door or break the window.

I'm at the dealership now and they just showed me how the blade works on the key FOB, then I went and stuck my head in a hole. Good thing I used AAA to unlock the car, but I still feel like a fool lol. The worst part was them wanting $310 for a trans service.
Software update is done and all has been good so far. I talked to my good friend who is an excellent mechanic and he said he would do the trans, transfer and diffs for $310. One nice thing I found out at the dealership was the vehicle has a lifetime drivtrain warranty, made my wife feel a lot better.
