2009 Dodge Journey is going crazy!!!
I have a 2009 Journey and it has recently gone crazy. While driving down the road the dash started blinking, all gauges stop working, and the door chime was sounding. It will do this sporadically now and I dont know why. It will do it once and then go back to normal. The driving performance of the car is unaffected but the electronics go crazy. Sometimes it will do it the entire time. Also, I have the factory rear DVD and it is no longer working. A few weeks ago the DVD would work fine, and then it would only work when the screen was flipped only 3/4 of the way down, and now, nothing. I hear the DVD and can see it on the front screen when in park, but the rear monitor does nothing now. I updated the REN to the current software and that didn't help. I have no idea what is going on and really do not want to do the dealership thing because the only one close to me is not helpful. Please help. If you need more info just ask and I will respong quickly. This is my wifes cars and she is not happy!
Thank you very much for your help.

About the same time, I received a TSB recall about the door wiring shorting out and causing the car to generally act weird. They said to bring it in for free repair. I had it in and they replaced both driver and passenger side door wiring harnesses and the problem is now completely gone.
You may want to look into that.
Thank you so much for your previous posts. I just bought this 2009 Dodge SXT in April after a car accident and THOUGHT this was the car of my dreams: a car with "pockets" and doesn't look like a minivan.
But I've had my car FREAK OUT on me!! My car starting to go off as if I had hit the panic button...and WOULDN't go off. I was mortified! A locksmith had to come out (used car with NO manual key in the key fob as I quickly found out) to let me in. The key fob started the car--and everything was fine. So far, the remedy seems to be the a new lithium watch battery.
But now (aside from the pieces of plastic that come unattached very easily), the car won't cut on as if the key fob is not connecting to the electrical system or the system is sluggish, slow toreact and all around "needing to warm up" as if we were in cold weather and it is an older car. Anyone else experienced this? I don't have the time just yet to drop off my car for review (no rental offered and I need my car everyday for work).

My 2007 Charger does the same identical thing. No loss of power and doesn't matter if I'm moving at 55, stopped at a light or in park in the driveway. I guess I should call the dealership to have it repaired before warrenty expires.

Correction... problem is not gone. It still happens occasionally. It seems to also happen when trying to watch a DVD, which by the way quit working. The player plays the DVD but fold down screen does not work. You can see the screen light up when first flipping down but it quickly goes off when folding down to a viewable angle. I have been less than please with this car... anyone have any ideas on what to do?
What is your mileage? If it is within a few thousand miles over the warranty time, then skip the dealers and call Chrysler directly. They took care of a concern i had and I was 5K miles over warranty.
