Default New Journey owner. Love it! (HID questions involved)

Hey Guys!

I had intro'd myself in the Neon section a few months back but thought I would introduce myself here.

I recently lost my 05 Neon with 307,000kms to a broken timing belt (pistons and valves decided to meet ). So me and my wife to be decided to go with a 2011 Dodge Journey SXT as a replacement since we are planning a family in the next couple years anyways. I have to say I quite love this vehicle even if it is a "family vehicle". Its black, has fierce looks, and about 2.5 times the power I'm used to having.

I don't have a lot i want to do to it in terms of mods. Maybe bigger rims down the road (i have the basic 17 inch mags). I want to convert my headlights to HID (although I'm still somewhat waiting on a projector halo kit to come out of the wood works somewhere). Was wondering if someone could tell me what the foglight replacement process is like as i also want to convert my fogs to HIDs.

Thanks!

-Duncan

Same here, I recently left my 00 Neon for 09 Journey SXT. My 00 Neon had 206,000 with some numbers miles.

I'd go for 20s rims, and for projector halo kit, I highly doubt it would come for Journey in the future. I hope they prove me wrong. I go for HID bulbs. For fogs to HIDs fog, if you have fog housing for Journey, you could find exactly size and shop for hids fog match size, after this, replace it with different wires. I don't see how difficult it is unless someone has tried and failed, please share it with us. Wish you good luck!

The 4.3 SCREEN is the defacto RADIO/Climate control presentation
in the DJ and if you don't have bluetooth you DO NOT have U Connect.
Fiat/Chrysler in 2011 made this possible by changing the sales code
on orders of new built DJs and salespeople being who they are
either were not told/didn't pay attention to the change hence
they ordered base DJ radios without the UConnect/Bluetooth.
There are quite a number of these units in the field according to posts
I have read on the net.
When you order MAKE SURE you specify or check the radio system out
if you buy in stock vehicles.

As far as I followed the threads on the subject it
was not a software issue alone but required a
another base radio box that includes the BT module.
Then of course there is flash to set the salescode
enabling the newBT/radio.

So here is the deal got a call from Chrysler customer care today, and they told me that my Dj is equipped with one of 3 wiring harnesses that do NOT work with the uconnect that has the bluetooth capabilities mine is jsut the standard lot model, i am very disappointed with Dodge and the dealership for advertising all the "options" that i can add, at a later time, ( verbal: straight from the dealer) and even asking the parts and service dept. all to find out that there is nothing that really can be done until Mopar finalizes their "fix" for the situation ( it is suppose to come soon, like they did with the 2011 DJ's) we will see if this was going to be the case i would have just ordered a brand new one from the factory with the options i wanted not the "showroom" model off the floor with 1 mile on it. more to come i will post at a later date if i get my bluetooth or not. (one ray of hope) the ccspecialist i talked to today told me that it has all been documented and that Mopar will "make it right" i asked what she meant by that discounts?, educate the dealerships?, having DODGE Chrysler stop FALSE ADVERTISING TO SELL THEIR VEHICLES im 45 and this is my first DODGE not a very pleasant experience ( DID IN ARLINGTON ) DISSAPPOINTED IN DODGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please if anyone hears how i can get mine up to date (rvm, with mic in it, or a KIT that can turn it into a unit that was prtrayed as,someone please let me know????

And there is the rub for us life-long Chrysler guys. I have bought several new Chrysler's and I have to admit, after buying a car from them, I rarely go back. There never has been quality issues with Chrysler's, beyond any other maker, but the dealership experience turns buyers off. My last new Chrysler was an 07 Chrysler PT Cruiser and it was a great car, but I bought it for less through the Ford dealer without the games their sister dealership played. Chrysler needs to really hammer the bad dealerships into shape or out of business. I still love Chrysler, hate their dealers.
