2012 Journey - Transmission Shudder
I just bought my Journey two months ago and this is the 3rd time I've had to take it to the dealership. The transmission shudders on deceleration around 25 mph. A software update was done and it did not help. I've read several reviews and the only answer given to them by the dealership is this is normal for this vehicle. Has anyone else had this issue? It feels like the entire engine is going to stop and fall out. Any suggestions?
That's when it goes into ECONO mode turning the injectors
down to idle volume and has been noted on the 2012s.
According to sources there is a late dated flash for this symptom
check and see if "RRT 12-006 2012 JC 3.6L" has been performed
for your VIN #.

I'm a little confused. The Dodge Caravan I'm driving today (the rental) has an ECONO button but my Journey does not. Does the Journey go into ECONO mode automatically or is this an option (which I do not have). I will ask the Service Manager today about the ECONO mode and the "RRT 12-006 JC 3.6L" update. Thanks. PS...the Caravan does not studder in ECONO mode.
I have a '11 DJ with no ECONO mode button or otherwise as far as I know.
Chrysler has had the mode hidden or otherwise for quite a few years
in the quest of better mpg.
The '12 DJ as I understand from different sources has a software ECONO
mode unlike the Caravans on demand button and from different forums
on the net quite a few '12 owners are experiencing shutter/near stalling
on the softwares transition from driving to Econo mode at around 25 mph.
The RRT # flash I quoted was to cover more than one operational quirk
and came from a customer service rep at Chrysler in Auburn MI.
