Default Pentastar V6 head issues- all models

Chrysler will be replacing heads on Pentastar V6 engines under warranty when problem occurs. This is due to soft valve seats on cylinders 2, 4, 6. Usually occurs at 26-32K miles. Rough idle and check engine light is on. Updated heads are available so make sure your dealer uses them instead of older stock or it will happen again.
Dodge dealer mechanic informed me there were no definite head casting dates or vehicle serial numbers to confirm. Once the vehicles have this problem it will be fixed.

If I remember correctly there were approx 658 of these engines
in the Mexican first production run with the defective heads.
The Pentastars made in the US did not have this problem.

Default More than that

My dealer has replaced 4 heads in last 2 months.
According an Autoweekly news blog, Chrysler was receiving warranty claims around 300 per week.

Thanks for the article url-haven't read that so it's news to me.
The Mexican 6's had valve guide problems predominately
as I understand.
I guess my luck is holding out(knock on wood) because after
15 months of driving my v6 is as quiet as the day I drove off the lot.
