Default 2010 Journey silver colored panel on dash

I want to remove the silver colored panel that covers the climate controls and radio on my 2010 Journey. I will have it professionally painted or covered in something easier on the eyes.

Can anyone tell me how to do this? I don't see any fasteners that are obvious. Is it glued on?

Thanks for any help,

Herman

That thing is just clip on. You stick your finger at the bottom and popit off.

Also, I think Base Model journey with 2.4l engine comes with black one. I guess you can look around the junk yard and search the internet. Maybe someone would trade u.

Thank you, that worked. Now to separate the silver part from the black part.

the silver part doesnt come off the black part, in my old journey i just pulled mine out and repainted the silver part to be a a kyrlon fusion (for plastic) true blue. it looked really good. i also painted the silver part on the top compartment door at the top of my center console on the dash ( some just have an open compartment some have a door and some have a screen there)

Default Thanks

Thanks Dethdeks,

When I lifted to bottom of the panel I noticed that the heater dials came with it. I'm going to wait for warmer weather to paint it, but do the heater controls separate from the panel?

thanks,

Herman

yup they do, once you pull the panel off you will get about a 8 inch cord that attached to the heater dials if you flip the panel over a bit you will find 4 hex key screws holding the dials to the bevel. remove those and the heater dials will come off the bevel and you will be able to do what you please with it. they are located on both sides of the bezel 2 on each side.
