Default Upgrading to heated seats? New owner as of tomorrow!

First off, this a first post in this forum as we will be picking up our new 2013 Journey tomorrow. Hoping this was a good choice as we always hear the bad things and not so much the good. It sure appears to look good, has lots of nice "extras" and have had good luck with my 2003 Dakota through the years.

One option that was not available on this vehicle was heated seats. I know this is an ordering option and wondering if anyone has done this after the fact by ordering the elements and "module" that are the only parts listed. Is the rest the wiring already there? Is there any programing or other configuration needed. Just thought I'd give it a shot.

Also hoping the new Uconnect 8.4n plays DVD while in park; another unknown that seems to be hit or miss on this entertainment system; I think I'll definitely check prior to "signing on the dotted line".

Thanks for any feedback and look forward to spending some time in the "journey" section.

Congrats on the new Journey! Dont really know about the heated seat option. There are 2 different seating options and highly doubt that the wiring is in place for the heated seats if it doesnt have the option installed, although I maybe wrong. I have seen a boat load of aftermerket kits out there for it. and Yes the DVD does play in park on the 8.4. I have had no issues with the system and have been giving it a good work out on mine since June. But would check with the dealer to see if heated seats can be installed before signing.

Congrats!
Make sure you over the Journey paint and trim before you "take delivery." Try to examine it in the sunlight if you can.

Your best bet is aftermarket heated seat inserts. Don;t know if heated seats can be a "dealer installed" option. Needs to come from the factory with it already.

Thanks for the suggestions. I know that I can purchase the heated seat elements and module; just don't know if they will interface easily.
