Red face Tranmission Problems 2010 Dodge Jouney

I have a 2010 Dodge Journey with 24K miles. It was running fine...drove today about 120 miles and on the drive back home, the vehicle would rev up really high but not go any where and then jerk real bad when it finally would take off. Then it got to the point where it would not go anywhere at all (forward or reverse). The vehicle doesn't have a transmission fluid dipstick so I can't check fluid levels. Anyone have anything similar to same situation and what was taken to correct problem.

Sounds like the trans is toast.

zachsandjakesdaddy,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. When the vehicle is started, are you able to shift into drive or reverse, or is the transmission completely non-responsive? Is the engine still experiencing a high rev?

Based on the age and metrage of your Journey, it is highly likely you still have powertrain warranty coverage. In this case, I would recommend contacting Roadside Assistance for a tow to your local Dodge dealer and having the vehicle diagnosed.
