Default grinding noise - steering wheel

DJ 2009 SXT (FWD)

Since I bought my Journey, I noticed that when doing parallel parking or when pulling out from the curb, the steering makes a really loud grinding noise and even when doing a slow turn (left or right). Some people told me that I should get my power steering fluid flushed and change the reservoir because the filter is probably clogged, and that if I don't get it fixed, it will damage my steering pump eventually.

Side question: it's a front wheel drive, are both front wheels powered or just one of them (left or right)?

Any advise please?

Thanks.

The advice for getting the fluid flushed and the filter changed is never a bad idea. Other guys on here can add more advice than I can, but if it were me, I would say start with that.

As for the side question, both wheels are powered.
