I see this convo began in 2014, 5yrs later has anyone managed to get it fixed and if so how? Mine has started up and the neighbours are over the 3am alarm wake up calls.

Here is a new twist.
i have a Sirius radio, but haven’t had it activated since the 6 month trial when I bought it in July of 2016. Last week I got a offer for 2 months free and accepted it. About 4 or 5 days ago, I activated the radio, that’s when the honking started. It hasn’t been too big a problem, hasn’ done it while the car was running, until today. I was pulling out of the driveway, the radio hesitated, so I looked at it, it said updating, after a few seconds, when the screen cleared, the horn honked. A very few minutes late, I was toggling thru the presets, and got to one that hesitated, at the same time it reached the station, it honked. I wonder if there is a connection between Sirius and honking?

 

I have had the same issue with intermittent honking. Today it was very bad and I was very worried about driving it. You could easily get in an accident by distracting drivers with the honking. I agree with others who have said that they can't believe this is not considered a safety issue. We ended up pulling the fuses so I am still left with a safety issue of no horn. We have a few Dodge dealerships in the area. I will take the information I've read here and see what happens and start with the one I bought it at and keep going down the line. Like many others I cannot afford a hefty service repair bill.

Just so you’ll know, the star case is bogus, it means nothing, my dealer says it will cost me to do the inspection called for in the star case. It just means nobody knows how to fix it.

 

Wow I am so surprised that after all these years no one has come up with a root to this problem. I am to joining the club today as my 2010 dodge journey started randomly honking. While parked, while driving, at Night. I have read all post and hopefully didn’t miss that one post that had a solution to this problem but if there is a solution can someone please let me know. Dodge I am very disappointed, this was my first dodge and loved it very much, but I am disappointed that dodge hasn’t stepped in and owned up to this issue.

I just bought a used but very clean 2010 dodge journey before I had this issue. It is now 3:00 am and I had removed the power wire to the main fuse box to get it to stop. Sad to say that after 9 years there has been no definite answer as to how this maybe fixed 😩
