I have a 2010 Jouney SE. Blue book lists it at $9801 for trade in value. I expected to have the dealer knock it down some but they came back at $4500. Needless to say I was a bit shocked but their reasoning was because the carfax showed an air bag deployment.

Even after repairs were made and airbags were replaced how much should this effect the trade in value or private party sale price?

 

Accident means potential future problems = less trade value irreguardless
of repairs.

 

Our 09 netted almost $8000 when we traded it in. Yes, accidents, especially with air bag deployment drastically reduce the worth.
