Default iPod won't play

I have a 2013 Dodge Journey and I have had a few problems playing my iPod. Today, for the second time, it simply won't play. It connects, it shows all my music, but it will not play. It will play through the Aux cord, but not through the USB port. Not sure what caused this or how to fix it.

Have you recently upgraded IOS on the Ipod?
There is a problem with IOS 8 and Apple and Chrysler are aware of it.

I recently synched my iPod but didn't update any software. And it played on the way to church, but wouldn't play after church.

amusingthalia,

I'm sorry to hear about your concern. Have you tried any other Ipods? In some cases rebooting your Ipod and trying again will restore the function as well.

Question iPod issue here too

I just bought a 2015 Dodge Journey AWD Crossroad with the Nav & Sound group (which includes the 8.4" touch screen). When I connect my iPod touch (not sure which generation), the Uconnect system will only show 154 songs even though I have close to 900 songs on the iPod. I have tried different cords, I have shut down and restarted the iPod, and I have tried putting different music on the iPod to try to get uconnect to "re-synch" the device. No luck at all. Still 154 songs. Is this related to the iOS8 issue or has someone come across this and found a solution. I haven't found anything on the forum that addresses this issue, especially on a 2015 vehicle.

Talking

OK, so I figured it out. It was an issue with my iPod and/or iTunes. When I put the songs on my iPod, a couple of them did not load properly. I noticed this last night when I was about to delete all of the music from my iPod and re-load it. In my songs list on the iPod (when viewing the list through iTunes), about 6 of them were greyed out. The first of those was song #155. Therefore, there were 154 "good" songs before the corrupted one. When I plugged my iPod into the Uconnect system, it loaded the 154 and then stopped because it obviously couldn't load the bad data. Once I deleted those songs and re-loaded them through iTunes, I added a few more and tried again. This time, all 1235 of my songs were available through the Uconnect system.

Hope this helps someone else along the way.
