Default High pitch frequency/grinding when accelerating with my 2010 Dodge Journey

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations regarding the topic. When I accelerate my Journey I hear a high frequency/pitch sound, but it goes away when the car is not in motion. When I place it in neutral and accelerate you can really hear it. Any ideas on what this might be? I just had a new alternator and battery put in (within the last 4 months), and air filter (about 6 months ago). Just letting everyone know the recent service I had, other than the usual oil changes.

Thanks! ..and I have a 2010 Dodge Journey SE.

Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.

Did they replace either the serpentine belt or the belt
tensioning pulley assembly?

Hey there. No they did not. However, about 4 months ago I had this awful sound, and they determined it was the alternator (which I had replaced). The guy told me that the belt was worn and pulleys were as well...but they were functional, but I didn't hear any noises after they put in a new alternator. This high pitch/frequency noise just started. So you think it may just be the timing belt and pulley? I'm a novice with cars, so just want to make sure.

Thanks for all the info, let me know.

No I said "serpentine belt" and if the belt tensioner is going
it will sometimes intermittently stall causing the belt to squeal.
