2012 Journey... Alternator went bad, changed it, runs fine now but the touch screen goes blank seconds after cranking, cant turn on radio or a/c and the speedometer doesn't work. I asked the local parts store about it and they said I needed to take it to the dealer. The local dealership checked it out and said the alternator going out fried the PCM which cost $425 total cost of $600 because they will have to reprogram the new one. Does this sound right?

 

Hard to guesstimate local fixes but that sounds about
what has been posted before for this type of repair.
Have you disconnected the battery cables and held them together
for about 10 minutes then reconnect to reboot the computer control?
