2012 Dodge Journey HFM Hands Free Module
Bought a 2012 Journey with some battery drain issues. If I let it sit for 2 days, it won't even turn over. Checked with an Amp meter and it drains over 2Amps when the battery is first connected, then drops to 0.8Amps after 30 secs which is still too much.
Brought the car in to see if Dodge can find the battery drain. No luck but the report mentioned that the HFM was dead (which I knew when I bought the car). It states: possible HFM internal fault causing excessive IOD.
Anyone know where the HFM is and how I can get to it?
I'll change it if I can find one at a wrecker. Otherwise just pull it out to see if makes a diff my battery drain issue.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Got it, got it! Ty Friar.
After going under the driver side dash in my limbo pose, the hfm is in plain view. Reaching up, past the steering rod, past the brake assembly... the module felt warm after 8 hours of the vehicle sitting. Clearly, this is where my battery is getting drained.
Would have been nice but I don't really care about the VR/Bluetooth functionality so my man hand managed to unplug 1 of the plugs. I'll check again tomorrow to see if the module is still warm. If so, I can try borrowing smaller hands to unplug the rest of the connections or if cannot be done, I'll have to remove the brake pedal assembly to get full access. Does not look like a big deal, but at that point, might as well replace the stupid thing.
Thank you again Friar!
