Windshield Washer Hose Replacement
Just a heads up... after about 5 years on my 2012 Journey I go to run my windshield washer and it sprays out the gap between the hood and the fender. How to fix?
Well, there is a hard-plastic hose (p/n MOPAR 5116306AF) that follows (and is attached to) the fender edge (coming from the reservoir pump) which bends up to (and attaches to) the hood and crosses the hood connecting to the 2 spray nozzles. That hard-plastic hose is all one piece up to the rubber fittings on the end - except now because the hood moves up and down, the hard-plastic over time has flexed itself into two pieces - thus the leak.
Its an easy fix. Part was cheap from the dealer so I just swapped it out - takes 5 minutes.
Don't try to patch it with a small piece of rubber hose. While I tried this first and it was a very tight fit, the pressure from the washer pump blew the rubber hose right off the hard-plastic hose. Hey it was worth the try...
Anyway - if this hose breaks on you just get a new one. I'm probably good for another 5 years or so.
