I'm having the same problem with my 2012 Journey. We, wife and I, bought this vehicle with 98k miles back in 2020. Didn't have any issues with it at that time. We moved to South Texas in April of 21 and started having battery issues. Changed battery out and it worked for a while then it started to go dead occasionally every few days. Again in August of 21 I changed the battery for new battery. Had the alternator checked. It was putting out correct voltage/amps and still had the battery start to die for several months. Started using a trickle charger at night before any planned trips. I also Figured it was a short in the window buttons or the air conditioner, and shut the rear air off as that blower in back would not shut off until car was shut down.....no more issues during winter months.......ran the air again Monday and Tuesday for short hops to the store and doctors office. Today it was dead again. Put the battery charger on and the charger started blinking indicating that I had a bad (damaged) battery. Took the battery out of the car and hooked the charger back up and vola' the thing takes the charge...........so what would cause the battery to NOT take a charge while connected to the car? I'm 72 and wife 63 with cancer, we need this machine to function for the many trips to the doctors. I'm not in great shape to be working on this critter. Need some advice to fix once and for all.

Default M13 fuse current draw

I have had the same battery issues since I bought it last year 2010 DJ base. Pulled fuses one by one with a voltmeter and trickle charger hooked up and M13 fuse when pulled stopped the current draw as soon as I pulled it. I am installing a switch in the cabin hooked to the fuse to cut it out when I park it. I guess I could hunt for exactly what is causing that circuit to be active or I can wait for someone to tell me on here. I have already pulled the gb bulb.

Bryan, Did your battery issue with your 2018 Journey Crossroad get resolved? I have the same model. The battery has gone dead twice. First, they replaced the battery. That new battery went dead. Then they replaced the TIPM totally integrated power module. Went dead again. Taking it back to them as they must not have identified the root cause. The battery is drained to the point where a smaller charger (1 amp) will not bring it back. I have had to get out an older manual charger that does 5 amps to get the battery back up to take it to the dealer. Thanks

Do you have anything plugged into your outlet for the cell phone charger?........even if the phone isn't connected and the charging cable is......it will drain the battery......did mine a half dozen times before I found a mechanic who knew his stuff with this damnable Dodge..............

I don't have any "brought-in devices" like chargers or dashcams plugged into the cigar lighter or USB feeds. Any good dealer by the way should check that first. Depending on the vehicle model there will be an "always hot" outlet meaning it supplies power all the time, even when the car is off. Those can kill your battery. But the phone chargers are only about 15 ma which is not too bad. Dashcams on the other hand can draw amps. There is also usually an "on with ignition on" outlet where you can have something physically plugged into it - but when the car turns off so does that outlet. You should avoid those people who didn't mention this to you. Thanks for replying

Main item that drains battery on newer cars is the blue tooth module for the phone not shutting off. The fuse is in the passenger side kick panel. Module is hard to get to and expensive to buy. Temp fix is fuse pull. Fuse called hands free I think.

Bad alternator diodes can also kill battery slowly with car sitting. Need a multi meter to measure milli amps draw. Normal is around 50 from digital clock and ecm computer for remote start/locks etc. If blue tooth bad will be around 2-3 hundred.

I know this is an old post but one sure way to check to see if the the glove box bulb doesn't turn off when it's closed is to set your phone to record with your selfie camera, place your phone in the glove box with the screen facing up, open and close the door slowly a few times and then play it back to see if it turns off and on.

Default Unbelievable

I'm dealing with basically the same thing. All the notification lights came on and the next day the car dying while being out. The car wouldn't turn back on or light up at all. We got power back to the car by charging it but the engine wouldn't turn on. We get it to a dealer and they say we need a ABS module. Which apparently is on back order and has been for months because the car has been just sitting there. I don't even understand how this is possible for a car less than 10 years old. With this being such a common problem and what seems to be an issue for security and safety how this is not a recall issue or something taken more seriously?? I still have no clue of how and when I'll be able to get my car fixed, I'm in a terrible spot with this car. It's been unbelievable.

Default Obviously a common problem

2015 Crossroad owner here. Been having this issue for the past while as well. Started in summer. Replaced the starter and all was good for Lil bit but then the issue returned. Replaced a battery sensor, that wasn't it. Car has been in the shop for 3 weeks trying to diagnose this battery drain. Will update if the issue is resolved.
