Journey Crossroads sluggish
Hey guys just wanted to get some thoughts from anyone else that might have had this issue. Obviously ill be taking it to a mechanic but figured id ask and see if anyone else has experienced a similar issue. I have a 2015 Dodge Journey Crossroads edition with about 95k miles on it. I started having an issue about a month ago to where it felt like my journey would just lose all power and become extremely sluggish to the point where if I was slowed enough id struggle to get it to go up a hill. My check engine light recently came on. I did a few things like replaced the air filter to make sure it wasnt disgusting and clogged up. Checked oil, etc. At first I noticed if id stop and restart the car the issue would go away for awhile during the driving then randomly occur again. Restarting the car again seemed to do the same...worked fine then started being sluggish again. I also checked the transmission fluid. It appears to be dirty which I know doesnt always mean I have an issue there. Its a very annoying problem and causing terrible gas mileage as well. Ive had 2 other cars in the past do similar things and it ended up being spark plug issues. I also noted that it feels like the car is changing gears when speeding up because i can feel them changing. However not sure about the down shifting. I know multiple things could cause this all the way down to just a sensor being bad, transmission, spark plugs, etc. Just wanted some insight on this and see if anyone else had an issue like this and what it ended up being. I really hope its not a transmission issue. Id be pretty upset if I had to put a new trans in my car that hasnt even reach 100k miles yet. Also read that these dodge journey models are horrible models and dont have a great review due to the mass amount of issues they end up having. Any information would be great. Thanks!
The first thing you need to do is get it scanned for the codes causing the check engine light. If you don't have a scanner, your locall auto parts store will scan it for you. That is your first step in troubleshooting since the vehicle is telling you whats wrong. Also prevents wasting money by throwing parts at it. Get the code scanned and let us know what it is and we can help you, or just google the code(s) and there are lots of sites that will recommend repair solutions.

yea im currently going after work to a buddy of mine who works at a shop whose gonna hook it up. I just figured id ask if anyone experienced anything similar with this model because Ive read about how many problems this thing has. Also got an ABS issue popping up. Saw there was a recall on it for water leaking into the module or something smh. 6 different recalls to be exact
this issue according to the mechanic is one of the wheel speed sensors is having an issue which is causing my traction control light and abs light to come on. Which is cutting my engine power to reduce the wheel spin because im assuming its stuck in traction control. Apparently its not a hard or expensive fix and a very common issue with these dodge models. Ill update once I get it fixed and let you guys no the results.

im wondering if this is tied to the ABS issue recall as well as im assuming the wheel speed senor controls the traction and abs. May not have to pay a dime for it. The wheel speed sensors dont seem to cost alot at all so either way ill be happy haha
