Default 2010 journey shifting problems

I have a 2010 Dodge Journey I bought used last week with 180000 miles. It drove home fine. The next morning the traction control light. ESP bas light and the tire pressure light came on. Typically when these lights come on then all the gears on the dash are circled no matter what gear I am in. When this happens then it won’t shift out of first. If I park it and try it after a couple hours the warning lights a lot of times will be gone and so will the circle around all gears. When it does this it will drive fine and shift fine. It doesn’t really make sense to me. Any help?

Get the battery tested. Weak batteries cause all kinds of issues.

I would check out the battery, But would also get a scanner and pull codes too. And post the codes once you have them.

The guy I bought it from just put in a new battery a few days prior to me buying it plus he says he has not had this problem.

Get the battery tested as stated. Taking the "guy you bought it from" word may or may not be a good idea at this point. Do you know where the battery is and have you yourself looked at it to confirm it is a new battery? Are the terminals clean and tight?
