Default 2013 journey sxt ...battery dies CONSTANTLY!

Have loved everything about our journey..we bought brand new in 2012..love the size, comfort for the most part had been an awesome car. But we have had constant issues with battery drainage. I have lost count how many times it has been towed and sat at dealer a week only for them to tell me they changed the battery & one time the alternator along with battery and that was only after I told them to check alternator. Lost count how many times we've changed the battery.Nobody can figure out what the hell is draining battery. From what I'm seeing looks like I'm not the only one dealing with this issue! Dodge needs to step up & provide remedy for this issue. This is absolutely ridiculous & not acceptable. Quick to sell & take our $$$ But not quick to back up your product!

Look up “how to perform a parasitic draw test” on you tube.

I am having a similar problem, just purchased a 2010 Journey SXT and if it sits for more than 3 days the battery is dead. Battery is 6 mo. old and am going to get it tested but it does hold a charge after jumped/run for awhile and topped off with trickle charger.

The problem on my 2010 journey was a bad horn switch. Of course I had to remove the horn fuses to stop random honking (obviously not recommended for safety reasons) but the switch was still activating and draining the battery.

Good to know. I inherited (for lack of a better word) my late sisters 2010 Journey. It had a similar issue of the horn going off in the middle of the night. It was a bad TIPM. The replacement one was also defective, the horn didn't act up-but the cooling fan would turn itself on/off at random times during the day and evening causing the battery to drain.

3rd time was a 'charm'. Horn goes off about once a month, (alarm related. Might be the hood switch I've been told) but no more drain.

To the OP: Keep us updated! If it's happening to you? It might be happening to others. Posting the solutions can help others.

Could it be the fuel pump kéeps running when the car is shut off? That happened on my Grand Caravan. Not sure if the Journey has the same issue.
