Auto locking fuse bruns out
Hi.
I hope that some one might be able to help me with an issue with auto locking on my Journey 2009 flexi fuel R/T. Also, Iīm Swedish and even though my English is good, I donīt know the right
terminology for all the technical stuff in English. With that said, to the point
I made a rather embarrassing mistake and left the sunroof open and You can guess what happened... Yeah, rain. I donīt really know how much, but the was some water in the the cup holders and other compartments, (just short of half an inch or so) as well as wet seats. I dried it out with some heating fans, and all was fine. That is until a week or so after when the auto locking just gave up. The fuse had burnt. The car indicates locking and unlocking with the with with both head lights and turn signals and the alarm still works. Naturally I swapped the fuse, but the new one burnt as well. Nothing else electric is faulty.
My own theory, well no, itīs pretty obvious that there is still water under the middle panel that causes the fuse to burn. I need to get that dried, but is there a control box under the middle panel? If so, how do I get to it? I read something about the controller for the locks may be placed in the drivers door. Or is that just something for when the door is opened with the key? Well anyways, I should point out that the water did not get there since the windows were up.
Good ideas are welcome because my wife wonīt stop bugging me about it...
