Default Adding daytime running lights?

2011 Dodge Journey Mainestreet
Has the daytime running lights on/off option in the infotainment screen but according to the vin, the dealer says it wasn't optioned when purchased AND that it cannot b added.
The it can't be added part sounds really silly. Does it need a different BCM? Maybe the module for DTRL?
Seems to me if there's a will there's a way.
I have access to wiring diagrams but I'm having a hard time finding anything about DTRL.

Have you tried enabling in by the radio? Have you tried a programmer like alfa obd?

I can turn DTRL on in my 06 Ram1500 with alfa ,no modules or wiring needed, I don't see why a journey wouldn't be able to in 11

Like in my OP I said it has the on/off option in the infotainment screen.
I'm wondering though if it could be as easy as enabling it via OBD, why would the dealer say nothing could be done? I was playing coy with them as if I was going to bring it in if they could

Dealers are worthless if they cant make warranty dollars in my opinion, anything that requires using your brain and actually thinking, forget it, they like mindless billable hours that get paid without questions. I don't own a journey so i cant speak first hand experience, just seems like it should be that simple, usually trucks are the last to get comfort features.

I only asked to clarify if you selected on and the lights did not function or you were just stating that the option is present. You you have to use a wall or at night (without auto headlights) to test as the DTRL only come on when in gear and parking brake released to my knowledge.
