Default Confused

I cant seem to find any actual answers to this problem.

So on the back of the engine on what I am pretty positive is the exhaust manifold is a hole. Looks like something should be bolted there but no clue what. Several auto techs have told me it is for a turbo to be mounted( which is funny coz this isthi4 cylinder engine family car) to nothing is supposed to be there. I have been curious about this "hole" since I bought the car in 2019. If any one has any actual knowledge of what this is for that would be great.
this is the hole i am talking about. I also believe it is on the heat shield.

Pictures would definitely help. The engine is a basic engine. In some models, it might be turbo charged. The parts will fit all models so even though YOUR car isn't turbo charged, that same engine might be used in a more performance oriented model. Just because your engine is in a Journey, doesn't mean it was only used in Journey's.
