Ram air intake? (RT)
Does anyone make or will make a Ram airt intake kit for the RT Magnum?
I'm talking about a real Ram air system with a scoop that sucks cold air from outside the engine compartment.
I know Airintakez has a good kit with smooth intake pipe, but it's not ram air, and Airraid kind of sucks.

I haven't seen one yet but I'd love to have one. "Good Hoods" would probably be the most likely candidate to make one as they have experience with similar applications for Dodge trucks. Getting air forced to our intakes via a hood scoop would require some good engineering due to the lack of room to play with and the general layout of things under the hood but I'm confident it could be done. Personally, I'd love to see a functional shaker-style setup too.

There is a great place already on these cars to scoop cool air. Someone on another forum pointed it out. Look between your air box and headlight. There is a pretty good sized hole that would allow someone to make a scoop that would pull good cool outside air. I have the 360 kit coming but I may modify it to take advantage of this hole.

I have an RK Sport hood on order....so I will see how that will work
with my K&N Typhoon kit. I may have to create a way to "seal" the
air box when the hood shuts....

The original intake kit is quite good at bringing in ambient air, although it is far from perfect overall imho.

The K&N Typhoon brings in air at effectively ambient temperatures, and more than likely quite a lot more of it, given its design. No heat soak over extended periods of time, either. Road tests at

A hood with an air induction system can't hurt, but surprisingly its not something thats going to make a world o' difference. I'm planning on putting one on once DG Motorsport puts out their functional fake shaker, and another guy on another forum announces availability on his rather neat Magnum hood design.
