The stock system provides all that's needed.....Don't expect anything other than sound or "Bling"......Ditto on the cat back system......

I'm not being negative, just factual, for what I've found with my 5.7....
stock may be good enough for you. but, i have130rwHp more by these mods that "do nothing".

i agree that it is hard to feel a 10Hp increase for daily driving. heck, it is hard to see that at the track too. but if you gain 10Hpfrom thisand another 15Hp from that and so on,it starts to add up.

I agree that there is a sum of the whole.
Based on that, the air hammer seems to give a few extra ponies, but is also loud, due to the metal tube.
If you want to hear it got that route.
The AFE2 is close behind it in HP gain, and is quiet.. That's the one I run.

Added SC, and ready to bolt on Gibson shorties and hi flow cats to the cat back system. Bit by bit it adds up.

I guess if you want a big increase for the buck, Juice it.

I'm running a daily driver, and not interested in pushing a 5300# shoebox to the limit. It's plenty quick, but I won't race it for pinks. I'm looking at MPG at the present time. and am pushing 26+ MPG highway and 16-17 city , taking it easy.

65 Standard,
Do you have a link for the Airhammer or AFE stage II? I would like to check them out. CAI is one of my next Mods to perform. What about Torque Increase? I am still going back and forth about my Exhaust Mod I did. Sounds better, but I think it was quicker off the Line before I pulled the 'Suitcase Muffler' out. HP is not my goal as much as Torque. Jumping from 0 to however fast you want to go is what I am looking for. Here in Southern California it is 1/8 or 1/4 mile jolts from Red Light to Red Light... Only going to Northern California to visit my Niece offered the whole Enchilada to see where and how it shut down due to the Speed Limiter... Nice and smooth...

Anyways, I would think that the CAI would help the Torque out a bit more than the Exhaust... Let me know what you guys think and have experienced...

Thanks!

here is the afe stage II intake. it is easy to get, no clearance problems, and a great price.
and the airhammer intake. it is harder to get, long order times and some clearance issuses.

UPDATE

AFE2 with a cooler thermo, and I'm seeing a MPG difference, about 1 MPG better. I think the heat soak from 204-217, vs 176-199 did make a difference.

Also running SC 91 setting and 91 gas added 1+MPG - a wash at cost of fuel.

Still beraking in at 5000 miles.
Also learning to pay attention to MDS on the road has helped.

Good MPG = easy on the throttle.

although it is expensive i would recommend the mopar intake. you can get it for the hemi or the 3.5 and it fits perfect, and is also a true cai that routes into the fender.has anyone given it a try?

That is awesome info on all CAI's.
I thought the 5.7 Hemi's pushed out 340 horses, or is that just the Dodge publish horsepower and not to the rear wheels???
Just curious

The CAI manufacturers and testers I've seen dyno results for all use rear wheel horsepower. The 340hp rating is an "as installed" rating for the 5.7 engine, not rear wheel hp. Incidentally, I have also seen the 5.7 hemi rated as 335hp on Dodge's website.

If you want to see if the airbox/filter is a restriction, next time on the dyno just putt the filter out and run it open. if the power goes up.. walla its a restriction.
